Time is Running Out
Have you added your 2 cents? The SMS preview of the new HM Basic and Cargo moving to the maintenance is currently available to carriers to see how they will look if the CSA changes as exhibited are implemented. Have you looked at your preview? Last week according to Dave Osiecki of the ATA only 5000 carriers have looked at their preview site. There are 90K carriers with sufficient data to generate a CSA score (11% of the active carriers). Only 5.5% of the CSA scored companies have checked their new status.
Comments are due on or before May 29, 2012. So while you are grilling your brats, watching the race, or relaxing by the pool Memorial Day weekend, think about your position on the CSA changes and get them in. Maybe think about it between now and then while you also ponder a mother’s day gift. Use this link to check your preview: http://bit.ly/SMSPre. Read more
Who’d you share your love with?
So Valentine’s Day came and went. Hopefully you had fun recognizing all those important people in your life. (Like we need a special day for that – we do it all the time – don’t we?) I know the 6 year olds sure enjoyed another reason for candy. It’s like a 2nd Halloween. Right after we just had the 100 day party! But I digress…
While you probably remembered your significant other, kids, kids’ classmates, kids’ teachers, kids’ sitters, your assistants, your friends, and the list goes on… quite the greeting card smorgasbord of folks you can remember. Did you remember your drivers? It’s not too late. Sure there’s driver appreciation week in the fall but why not give the gift that keeps on giving. Give them access to their very own CSA Report – - FREE of CHARGE to both you AND the driver. Remind your drivers to use www.roadsideresume.com or turn it on if you haven’t yet. For those you that haven’t become a Vigillo subscriber yet (there are 1.3M authorities out there), you can sign up as an affiliate and offer this too free of charge to your drivers! Check out our website at http://vigillo.com/drivers.html for further details or see our YouTube Chapter for Dan Baker videos on it as well.
When’s the next candy celebration day? Maybe just days away – Friday’s coming right? You’d think I was a dentist… or a dentist’s wife!
New Year Resolution or No Resolution
A new year is just days away. What resolutions have you have decided on? Or you are anti-resolutions? Instead of thinking of the typical healthy tasks we usually consider at year end for resolutions (remember a routine takes 21 days to get into your regular regimen to become effective), let’s think about organization and data. You probably have enough monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks to keep track of. Perhaps your goal is to clean off your desk every day before you leave, keep your email inbox under a minimum quantity – you know 2000 perhaps, or to keep your to do list current. While thinking about all those ways personal and professional life improvements, be sure to remember your not so ordinary time line of the FMCSA biennial task. Just out is the friendly reminder from FMCSA regarding VMT & PU updates.
Over the top sports weekend in Cheddarland!
It’s Saturday night in Wisconsin and we cheddar heads are
having the time of our sports lives. Reminisce with me for a moment… Wisconsin Badgers played in the Rose Bowl. Sure they didn’t end up victorious but still a chance at the roses is quite the achievement. Then we had the Badger Women’s Hockey Team take the NCAA Frozen 4. Of course we had we the joy of bringing the Lombardi trophy back home to the smallest market in the League with the community owned Green Bay Packers overtaking the Pittsburgh Steelers (sorry Sloan and the rest of the Steeler die hards) in Super Bowl XLV. Fast forward a few months and our current experience is unfolding.
The Best of the Best
Another great day in Packer Nation Thursday! While the NFL lockout has us football fans wondering when the season will start, a gleeful night – or blingful night took place in Green Bay WI last night.
Our Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers received their rings in a private team ceremony Thursday. While everyone can say their team is the best, Green Bay Packer Fans currently can prove it with the Super Bowl XLV Title forever ours. So for now our joy can again come to the forefront as we wait for the lockout to be settled. We celebrate as Boston joins this pinnacle of team joy as their Stanley Cup Champion Bruins hoist the Cup! Nice run!
Who are your Champions? Who are the best of the best in your world? [Some military folks come to mind… Navy Seals, Top Gun Pilots, Delta Force, Rangers…thank you all!] Read more
Welcome Pam Jones!
Three Notable Women Make Career Changes
And we aren’t speaking of Mmes. Winfrey, Vieira, and Couric. Three more notable women have also made life changing career moves with all roads leading to Vigillo. Marissa Hirt’s promotion to the inside sales role opened the door for Katie Stuvland to pick up where Marissa left off. Recently, I also joined the Vigillo Sales Team.
I have spent my professional career in the trucking regulatory arena. I was indoctrinated into trucking with fast food distribution trucking carriers and most recently supported various trucking company through my compliance assistance work at HNI. I have now joined Vigillo as the sole Vigillo contact in the east. I thank all the attendees at the recent TCA Conference in chilly Murfreesboro TN for the warm welcome.
In addition to trucking company support, I have been & will continue to be heavily involved in industry great programs like…. the WI Motor Carrier Association’s safety council and the WI Special Olympics Truck Convoy on Sept 17 (someone has to drive the car while the photographer gets that action shot while we travel up Hwy 41!).
Please be patient if the killer dogs are playing security guard in the background when we talk. I’ll do my best to contain them…. the doggy day care might have to be considered.
I can’t wait to start working together.
